Sientra awarded the following organizations a 2019 FULL CIRCLE fund:

 

 

 

A Little Easier Recovery

About the organization:

The mission of A Little Easier Recovery is to empower cancer patients to regain their dignity and control and lead a better quality of life through all phases of cancer treatment and recovery.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE grant funds will support the Jacki program which provides recovery jackets to hospitals so nurses and surgeons can distribute them free to breast cancer patients. The Jacki’s unique design helps patients manage the pain and discomfort of post-surgical drains.

 

 

Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program

About the organization:

The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program’s (Adelphi Breast Cancer Program or ABCP) mission is to educate, support, empower, and advocate for breast cancer patients, professionals, and the community. The program strikes to make sure no person affected by breast cancer has to face it alone by providing individuals with resources, psychosocial support and information to empower them to take control of their health.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE grant funds will support new psychoeducation and its theme-focused, time-limited, structured group work approach that provides a supportive, experiential environment with education, empowerment, role modeling and skill building.

 

Alliance in Reconstructive Surgery (AiRS) Foundation

About the organization:

The mission of AiRS is to provide access to reconstructive surgery to women who have had mastectomies as a result of breast cancer; including educating them on reconstruction options and ultimately assisting them with the cost of reconstructive surgery.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will provide education and assistance with reconstructive surgery to breast cancer mastectomy patients.

 

Breast Cancer Angels

About the organization:

Breast Cancer Angels provides financial and emotional assistance for women and their families as they are going through breast cancer treatment.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support financial assistance to individuals during treatment for breast cancer, such as food, housing, clothing, co-pays, transportation, second opinions, social worker assistance or attorney fees.

 

Breast Care for Washington DC

About the organization:

Breast Care for Washington DC’s mission is to reduce breast cancer mortality in the Washington DC area by promoting access to breast cancer screening, diagnostics, and treatment to all women, regardless of their ability to pay.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support breast cancer screening and patient navigation through follow-up care for its uninsured patient population.

 

Casting for Recovery 

About the organization:

The mission of Casting for Recovery (CfR) is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique retreat program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. The program offers opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life and experience healing connections with other women and nature. CfR serves women of all ages, in all stages of breast cancer treatment and recovery, at no cost to participants.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support their 2020 National Therapeutic Retreat Program for Women with Breast Cancer which includes 2020 Stage IV retreats, Southeast Regional retreats (serving Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi), military retreats, and the New York City/Long Island low-income focused retreat. These retreats have a higher number of women of color and advanced stage breast cancer.

 

Conejo Free Clinic

About the organization:

The mission of the Conejo Free Clinic is to provide medical, dental and legal services free of charge for people of all ages and life circumstances who are of low and poverty level income and the working poor. They help patients from anywhere, but mostly residents of Ventura County, Santa Barbara County and North Los Angeles County.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support the “Conejo Free Clinic Breast Cancer Prevention Program for Low-Income Women.”  The clinic provides uninsured and under-insured women with screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms and any further advanced breast diagnostics tests needed free of charge, with no minimum age restrictions.

 

Evelyn’s Breast Friends Forever

About the organization:

Evelyn’s Breast Friends Forever unites women with breast cancer through unifying events. Through fundraising, donations, volunteer support and ultimately financial generosity, they help raise the self-confidence of women with breast cancer.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will help pay for breast reconstruction to uninsured and underinsured women.

 

HERS Breast Cancer Foundation

About the organization:

The mission of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation is to support individuals healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and services regardless of financial status. Their goal is to empower and care for each client as a whole person.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support the Lymphedema Project which provides breast cancer patients compression garments they need to prevent or alleviate lymphedema flare ups.

 

 

Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer Resource Center

About the organization:

The mission of Michelle’s Place Breast Cancer Resource Center  is to empower individuals and families impacted by cancer through education and support services.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support the Pink Ribbon Assistance program which provides temporary financial assistance to women who are in active breast cancer treatment by providing them with grocery gift cards.

 

 

OjaiCARES, Inc.

About the organization:

The mission of OjaiCARES is to provide a guiding hand and compassionate heart to people with cancer and their loved ones through services that educate, support and empower them through the cancer journey.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support their patient navigation program as well as their exploratory Promotores program, with the goal of bringing breast cancer health outreach and education to the Latino community.

 

 

Pink Daisy Project

About the organization:

Pink Daisy Project provides care and comfort to women under 45 with breast cancer who have the additional burden of caring for a family and children. They help with tangible, practical assistance with no full-time staff or office overhead.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will provide groceries, gas, medication and meals for women with breast cancer and their families.

 

Polite Tumor

About the organization:

Polite Tumor’s mission is to provide financial assistance to women under 40 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. They give women the opportunity to look beyond their diagnosis and their treatment, providing the freedom to heal—however they define it.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will provide financial assistance to women under 40 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

 

Rocking the Road for a Cure, Inc.

About the organization:

Rocking the Road for a Cure’s mission is to restore the strength, confidence, and physical & emotional well-being of individuals with breast cancer in their community. They offer free home-based wellness programs and support services, which are provided by a network of licensed and certified professionals.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support case management, individual and family counseling, nutrition counseling, meditation, massage therapy, restorative yoga, acupuncture, Reiki, beauty consults, free wigs and prosthetics, housekeeping, childcare, transportation, and more for those undergoing breast cancer treatment.

 

Sharsheret

About the organization:

Sharsheret is a national non-profit organization, improving the lives of Jewish women and families living with or at increased genetic risk for breast or ovarian cancer through personalized support and educational outreach. While their expertise is in young women and Jewish families as related to breast and ovarian cancer, Sharsheret programs serve all women and men.

About the grant request:

FULL CIRCLE funds will support Best Face Forward 2.0 (BFF2.0). The goal of BFF2.0 is to improve quality of life for women struggling physically, emotionally and financially because of their cancer surgery and treatment.
